“Play turns out to be so stunningly essential to childhood, it’s like love, sunshine & broccoli all juiced together.” -Lenore Skenazy
We accept infants starting at 3 months up to 15 months of age. Our class maintains a child to teacher ratio of 3 to 1, with lots of individual focus.
Our babies have room to roll, crawl and explore in our spacious infant area. They also enjoy music and baby gym classes daily! Our skilled, certified staff provides a safe and nurturing environment for your precious little one, with many opportunities for growth and development.
Infant parents set their own schedule (with a 3 day a week minimum) and our staff supports this.
Children ages 15 to 23 months are welcomed into our Toddler class where they enjoy a 4 to 1 child to teacher ratio. Our toddlers have a very large classroom area filled with hands-on equipment.
Our creative, caring staff supports development with a rich, process oriented curriculum, and lots of fun, messy art and science exploration.
Children enjoy cooking, yoga and dance classes as well as daily gym and music in our “little gym” outfitted specially for the under 3 set. We also enjoy our spacious outdoor playground every day we can!
Our Transition class is designed for children on the cusp of entering preschool – ages 2 to 2 years 9 months.
We maintain a child to teacher ratio of 4 to 1, and provide a glimpse of preschool life to our oldest toddlers. They enjoy their own unique classroom setting where they explore an exciting curriculum.
Teachers lead children through art, science, math and cooking activities, and help them understand concepts such as colors, shapes, numbers and letters. All children are introduced to potty use and sitting in big kid seats for snacks and lunch time.
They have a daily circle time with stories and finger plays. Children have daily music and gym classes, and enjoy dance class 3 mornings per week. Every day the weather cooperates includes outdoor play in our wonderful playground.
Our three-year old class is comprised of children ages 2 years 9 months (turning 3 after September 1st of their enrollment year) and up. We have an 8 to 1 child/teacher ratio with a varied and active curriculum, Our caring teachers continue to support toilet training throughout the year. We introduce children to our amazing maze and treehouse indoors, with lots of active and imaginative play.
Children continue their knowledge journey with concepts, science, math, literature, social studies, cooking, art (including ceramics with our own kiln) and frequent gym/music/dance classes. Outdoor play is a big part of every day the weather cooperates!
Our four-year old class (for children turning 4 after September 1st) continues the hands-on, creative approach to learning. As well as all of the curricular areas described above, children continue to improve their conceptual grasp and phonemic awareness which enhances the pre-reading stage. Lots of active, physical play keeps older preschoolers healthy and fit, and our teaching staff helps these eager learners expand their horizons with “visits” to different countries each month.
Children enjoy cooking and art classes which focus on these different cultures. Our games become more team oriented and help to build self-esteem, while we foster a sense of community.
Our pre-kindergarten class serves children turning 5 after September 1st. Our skilled team helps this group on the last leg of their journey prior to entering kindergarten. In addition to all of the aforementioned classes, teachers will help to ensure that children recognize their letters, numbers, shapes, colors and beginning letter sounds. They will work on writing their names and recognizing some sight words. Children are encouraged to work as a team in many activities and perfect their self-sufficiency in dressing themselves, eating and following directions. There is still plenty of time built into the day for exploration and creativity. Social skills are highly emphasized as well. And lots of active play occurs every day, no matter the weather.
